Resort managers Matt and Pia Bysher wanted to do something to renew community awareness about the plight of these majestic creatures. The inspiration for the mural came from the name of the resort as Akama means whale in aboriginal. Hervey Bay is renowned as one of the top spots to see the whales with an up close and personal experience guaranteed. The calm waters of the region and the superb weather make for an unforgettable experience. The whale watching season for 2009 begins on 27 of July and spans for 3 months. If you would like to help us save them, come and stay at Akama place to be, Akama.
Greenpeace, Akama and the whales thank you.
